Cookies & Cocoa for the Holidays at
North Shore High School!
In the North Shore High School Cafeteria on December 19, the High School PTO sponsored a delicious treat of Cocoa & Cookies for everyone including students, faculty, and staff to enjoy during the holidays. The PTO set up tables containing warm cups of hot chocolate, enjoyable toppings, and various sweet treats that they generously served including marshmallows, whip cream, sprinkles, cookies, and more!
Many students and teachers walked away with big smiles and said that this was a fun way to begin the holidays and celebrate the season. Some students said, “I love hot chocolate and the toppings made it even more fun!” Others commented, “The cookies were delicious and it was so nice of the PTO to do this for us!”
Overall, the PTO did an excellent job of getting the school into the holiday spirit! Many thanks to all of the PTO members who made this celebration such a delicious and special holiday treat for everyone at North Shore High School!

Dear North Shore High School Community,
It is with pleasure that we welcome you to the 2018/19 school year.
The mission of the PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience of our students at North Shore High School, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent and teacher involvement, and to enhance the environment at NSHS through volunteer and financial support, with an emphasis on building a strong sense of community among parents, students and faculty.
In appreciation of your continuous support, and in an effort to meet and get to know as many families as possible, we will be hosting our second annual complimentary NSHS PTO Welcome Back Social, to be held at Sea Cliff Yacht Club on September 6th at 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Please mark your calendars and join us to catch up with old friends after summer vacation while meeting new friends.
We also look forward to personally greeting incoming 9th grade families during the NSHS Freshman BBQ on August 29th. We hope you will stop by the PTO table and allow us to introduce ourselves to you. The Executive Board will also be available to answer any questions you may have during Back to School Night on September 25th.
We are very excited and enthused about the upcoming school year and it will be our pleasure to welcome your family to our PTO General Membership community. We strongly urge you to attend our meetings and learn more about the exciting ideas and plans we have for the upcoming year. Your fresh ideas are always welcomed and greatly appreciated. The NSHS PTO works diligently to benefit all of our high school students. Please support the enrichment of your children’s education by contributing $20 for a family membership. For your convenience, a PTO membership and scholarship card is enclosed. You may also join online at nshspto.org.
The funds raised from the Homecoming Journal, the "Taste of Spring" event, as well as your membership dues, allow us to enrich our students and school both inside and outside of the classroom.
Some of many projects funded by the PTO include:
• Contributing to the Chemistry flip classroom
Purchase of Digital Media Screens
• Continuous purchases of courtyard furniture and recreational equipment
• Guest speakers for students and parents
• Student events and celebrations
• Sponsoring the installation of the Andrew Feinstein Learning Center
• NSHS PTO Scholarship for graduating senior
Our first PTO meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 12th at 7 p.m. when we will be voting for the 2018/19 PTO budget. We hope you can attend this important and very informative meeting.
Wishing you and your children an exciting and successful 2018/19 school year!
